Ironcraft was formed by Roy Atkins in 1979 when he gave up his job as a sheet metal worker and founded his own company in the garden shed. As the name suggests originally the company was a wrought iron fabricator making gates, fences etc For a few years we worked the local markets selling hanging baskets and brackets, telephone tables etc. We moved into Fort Fareham Industrial Site in the early 80’s. Following a commission from a local pub to provide a large pair of firebaskets with open flame gas fires the company began to sell gas fires too. Slowly over the years the business evolved into a fireplace retail showroom specialising in solid fuel fires and more specifically woodburning stoves.The business remains to this day a family run business with a focus on customer care and satisfaction with most of our business coming from customer recommendations. We now offer a wide range of products from woodburning stoves to “hole in the wall” gas and electric fires. Modern gas fires now come with a range of control options from manual lighting to full sequential remote control systems that allow you to switch the fire on and off from cold as well as set the desired room temperature and run time etc!
We supply a large range of ancillary products for our customers including: Custom oak beams & shelves – Ceramic options for lintel height installations.
We source our natural oak beams from our local supplier “Coastal Oak” as well as from Focus Fireplaces.
Granite hearths are a great choice for woodburning stove installations as the material is hard wearing, doesn’t show the dirt and very easy to maintain. We source our granite to order from a local supplier and offer a choice of polished, honed and flamed finishes. Custom sizes are available to cover existing footprints
